WealthBriefingAsia is excited to announce the launch of our inaugural awards program highlighting the importance of External Asset Managers to the wealth management industry in Asia.
Building on the success of our Swiss EAM Awards, the nomination process for the WealthBriefingAsia External Asset Management Awards 2022 is now open culminating in a celebratory cocktail event at The Mandarin Oriental, Singapore on 13th October 2022.
The categories for entry are focused around these main areas:

As is the case for all our global awards programs, independence, integrity and genuine insight will be the watchwords of the judging process, which as always will be conducted by expert panels drawn from both custodian banks and trusted advisors/consultants to the sector.
Having reported on the wealth management industry for over 15 years and being responsible for several research report specifically covering this area, we are best placed to initiate a process that fairly rewards achievement, top class performance and innovation.
Winning a WealthBriefingAsia Award sets organisations and individuals apart from their peers and is a tangible demonstration that they have something special to offer.

WealthBriefing’s global awards program is built on the independence of our judges.
The judges for WealthBriefingAsia’s External Asset Management Awards 2022 are being invited from partners in the custodian banks, technology companies and other service providers. Markus Wolf is Head of Intermediaries for VP Bank Ltd Singapore Branch. In this role, he leads and develops the bank's flagship business for intermediary clients in the region. Prior to this role, Markus was Chief of Staff, where he was instrumental in driving strategic, operational, and partnership efforts for the firm.
With more than twenty years of international experience in consulting and wealth management at regional and global CEO level, Markus is a senior leader in the industry with front- to back experience and a track record in building successful businesses.
He began his career in management consulting before moving to Credit Suisse and Standard Chartered Bank where among other
senior roles he served as the Global Head of Business and Segment Management for Private Banking and Wealth Management. In addition, he gained FinTech experience through his work with digital wealth managers and his role as mentor for the German Accelerator Southeast Asia.
He holds a Doctorate in Economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and a MSc. in Management from the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL) in Germany. Outside of work, Markus enjoys music and the outdoors.

Mario brings extensive experience to the industry as senior advisor driving sales and business initiatives in Asia Pacific for UHNWI/FO service providers. He draws upon his detailed understanding from roles such as global head of business management for ANZ Private Bank in Australasia, where he defined and delivered the strategic and operational needs for the business.
Previously Mario worked for leading wealth managers such as Vontobel, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, holding positions across a variety of disciplines including relationship management, business and financial planning, training and development, strategy, business development and marketing communications in both Europe and Asia. He was also managing director for Solution Providers Management Consulting, leading its growth in Asia Pacific, specifically Singapore.
He wrote and published his Ph.D. thesis about the supervision of External Asset Managers [EAM] in Switzerland (“Der bankunabhängige Vermögensverwalter: Analyse des Handlungsbedarfs einer möglichen Aufsicht unter Berücksichtigung des amerikanischen und englischen Rechts”), build up/out of various EAM desks in Switzerland and Singapore and serviced this segment.

Maurice Troesch is Head of External Asset Managers, Asia-Pacific for Lombard Odier.
He joined Lombard Odier in March 2016 as a Business Developer for the External Asset Management business in Asia-Pacific. In late 2017 he assumed responsibility for the overall business in Asia-Pacific.
Maurice is responsible for leading Lombar Odier’s intermediary business in Asia-Pacific with the focus on Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. He leads a team of professionals to deliver best-in-class private banking services and innovative
soltuions for intermediaries in APAC. Maurice is responsible for the successful implementation of strategies that support the business and financial objectives; leading key revenue objectives to improve client book profitability.
Before joining Lombard Odier, Maurice worked for a global multi-family office in Zurich before embarking on setting up a subsidiary for the group in Singapore in 2010. His career began in 1999 with a consultancy & fiduciary firm in Switzerland where he also completed his commercial apprenticeship.
Maurice holds a Swiss Federal Diploma of Commercial Competence as well as the Swiss Professional Baccalaureate Commercial Option.

Oliver is the Deputy CEO and Head of Private Banking of EFG Singapore. He is a senior banker and business leader with almost 30 years of industry experience. Oliver’s success is based in particular on his client-centric approach and deep understanding of cultural diversity. His earlier roles took him from Switzerland to the UK, where he built up and expanded the private banking activities of BSI’s bank London office. Oliver has since spent most of his career in Asia, where he was initially responsible for setting up and managing the private banking business of a newly created bank in Singapore. Oliver was later appointed as Deputy CEO and Head of Private Banking with responsibility for growing EFG’s business in Asia. Shiladitya Choudhuri is Market Head for External Asset Management & Multi-Family Office at Indosuez Wealth Management in Singapore. A veteran of the bank, Shiladitya also serves as the Market Head for the NRI (Non-Resident Indians) business. Q) Do I/my firm need to be a subscriber to WealthBriefingAsia?
A) No, this program is open to all relevant firms.
Q) Is there any upfront cost to enter?
A) No, there is no upfront cost to enter, but you will be offered the chance to purchase a winner’s package should you be successful. This includes the option of tickets to attend the gala event.
Q) Is the process open to firms that are not active within the Asia region?
A) The judges will only consider submissions from firms that are active in the region. Please see here an overview of our global awards programmes.
Q) How do you ensure that the judging process is independent and impartial?
A) The judges are independent of the Award organisers and the are divided into separate panels to avoid conflicts of interest.
Q) Can you assure me that any details that I submit will be treated with confidentiality.
A) We collect your details and only share submissions with the judges’ team responsible for judging those particular categories. We ensure that there is no conflict of interest with the judges’ team before sharing entrants’ details. All our judges have signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Q) My submission is likely to be longer than the 1000-word max limit. Would this disadvantage me?
A) We have set the limit out of respect to the judges and we are keen to maintain this to ensure that there is a level playing field between competing submissions.
