1.25 pm Presentation: The Power of the ‘Other’ AI

One of the most powerful investment themes throughout 2024 has been AI.  While investors have been laser focused on artificial intelligence, at All Source Investment Management we’ve been focused on another powerful AI theme – alternative investments.  An asset class which was formerly only available to the mega wealthy and institutions, can now be accessed by affluent retail investors.  With a clear regime shift underway, alternative investments can serve as a powerful tool for allocators.

1.40 pm Presentation: Private Investments, Perpetual Funds, & Family Office Allocation Trends

Family Offices have been exceedingly seizing on opportunities to invest in alternatives to boost returns and income. In the last 3 years, the democratization of access to private investments with perpetual strategies has created a shift in tools to manage and build diversified asset allocations with enhanced periodic liquidity and reduced operational complexities. In this presentation we will review general asset allocation trends, the impact of adding alternatives, and the benefits and trade-offs of adopting perpetual strategies to maximize the growth of a family’s investment portfolio.

1.55 pm Presentation: The Evolving Landscape of Alternative Investments: Adapting to Technological Disruption in a Changing Market

In this presentation, we’ll examine how technology is impacting key aspects of the alternative investment industry. We’ll explore how private equity’s apprenticeship model is evolving, with implications for people development, culture, and succession planning—raising the question of whether the traditional mentorship model will hold up. We’ll discuss how increased efficiencies at tech companies may reduce the need for late-stage venture funding, potentially altering the universe of investable opportunities. Finally, we’ll address the “so what”: How investors are navigating changes to how they develop talent internally and assess opportunities in this shifting landscape.

2.05 pm Panel discussion: Passion Assets: Luxury to Legacy

Delve into the world of luxury collectibles/”passion assets” including luxury and classic cars, works of art, sports memorabilia, coins, jewelry and watches, and fine wines and spirits, and why they are attracting attention as viable alternative investments in an asset class of their own.
