Keynote by Ida Liu: The New Dynasty: How Family Offices Are Redefining Power, Purpose, and Private Capital
As the global wealth landscape undergoes a seismic shift, family offices are emerging as the new power centers of private capital—architects of innovation, impact, and intergenerational legacy. Drawing on her experience leading one of the world’s largest private banks and now building next-generation wealth platforms, Ida Liu explores how families are moving beyond preservation to creation—transforming from quiet stewards into bold catalysts shaping the future of global finance. She will unpack the new era of direct investing, cross-border collaboration, and purpose-driven legacy—and reveal why families who master agility, alignment, and access will define the next dynasty of private capital.
Panel: Going Direct – The Evolution of Family Office Private Market Investing
Over the past decade, family offices have become one of the fastest-growing forces in private capital markets. With global wealth at historic highs and family offices multiplying in number, more families are moving beyond passive fund allocations and seeking to invest directly in private companies. The motivations are clear: greater control, better transparency on fees and governance, and the opportunity to leverage entrepreneurial instincts and industry expertise. But direct investing is not without its challenges. Competing in today’s private equity market requires more than patient capital—it demands specialized skills in origination, underwriting, and execution. Families must decide whether to pursue a lean opportunistic approach, build dedicated in-house teams, or adopt hybrid outsourced models. And regardless of model, success increasingly depends on partnering with other families, independent sponsors, and specialized investors who bring the networks, sector knowledge, and operational know-how needed to win and manage deals.
Presentation: Unlocking Value in America’s Coastal Infrastructure
Capri Harbor Marina Group presents an opportunity for family offices to invest in one of the most supply-constrained real-asset classes in the U.S.—coastal marinas. Demand for larger vessels continues to outpace available slip capacity, while limited coastal zoning and high replacement costs constrain new supply. The marina sector offers economic resiliency and an uncorrelated return profile versus the broader economy and traditional asset classes. Capri Harbor provides targeted exposure to this imbalance through a scalable platform focused on redevelopment, operational efficiency, and storm-resilient design. Our experienced team and disciplined approach generate stable cash flows, inflation-protected income, and multiple exit pathways.

Fireside Chat: Building Trust at Scale: How AI Governance Unlocks Innovation and Protects Brand Value
AI governance has quickly moved from a compliance process overseen by humans to a critical business challenge that cannot be addressed without technology. As organizations experiment with AI at unprecedented scale, they face a roadblock in lack of trust. AI-driven reputational damage can now unfold in minutes when interacting with external stakeholders or losing track of AI tools running through internal systems. In this fireside chat, Anna Garcia, GP of enterprise fintech investment firm Altari Ventures, sits down with Tamara Zubatiy Nelson, Forbes 30 Under 30 CEO of Barometer, to explore how purpose-built AI governance infrastructure enables confident innovation, protects brand value, and unlocks a $25 billion investment opportunity by 2030.

Family offices are at an inflection point. Lunch and Networking
Afternoon Keynote: Rethinking Risk and Return: Smarter Asset Allocation for Long-Term Success
This presentation explores the importance of asset allocation in driving long-term investment success, challenging traditional approaches like the 60/40 portfolio. It highlights key principles such as compounding returns, risk management, and diversification across asset classes, including private equity, real estate, and non-traditional investments. Using historical insights and capital market assumptions, it presents a framework for constructing resilient, all-weather portfolios. The discussion also covers risk-adjusted returns, liquidity considerations, and lessons from major institutional investors. The goal is to equip investors with the strategies needed to navigate market uncertainties and optimize returns over time.
Presentation: Positioning Oil and Gas as a Dependable Real Assets Investment Strategy
Positioning Oil and Gas as a Dependable Real Assets Investment Strategy examines the role of oil and gas as a real asset allocation within a portfolio. The presentation highlights how disciplined upstream investment offers durable cash flow, tax advantages, inflation protection, and tangible value – attributes that complement traditional real asset holdings such as real estate and infrastructure. The discussion frames oil and gas not as a speculative commodity trade, but as a stable, income-generating asset class aligned with long-term wealth preservation objectives.
Presentation: A Powerful Investment Most Investors Overlook: Paying Less in Taxes
This presentation flips the traditional investment conversation. Instead of focusing on where to invest, it explores how keeping more of what you earn—by paying less in taxes—can deliver one of the highest returns available. Drawing on experience advising Tiger 21 and EO members, the speaker reveals how compounding tax savings over time creates exponential wealth. It’s not a typical tax talk—it’s a compelling perspective that resonates with high-net-worth families and sparks new thinking. Unlike the usual fare at family office events, this session stands out by offering practical, strategic insights with immediate and lasting impact.
Panel: Cultural Assets - Building the Next Alternative Category for Wealth & Family Offices
This panel explores how leading institutions are transforming cultural assets, from collectible cars to literary IP, into institutional-grade investments. As family offices push alternative allocations toward 50% while seeking next-gen engagement, panelists will share practical frameworks for valuation, financing structures, and integration of these passion assets that offer uncorrelated returns and values-aligned investing critical for successful wealth platforms.
Networking and Refreshments
Panel: Doing Well Through Doing Good: Investing in Rare Disease Drugs
Imagine an investment vehicle with dual objectives: Return on mission- curing children of rare diseases and Return on capital: Making money while doing that! both the investment and philanthropic allocations from foundations and family offices / UHNWIs can enable such a construct, along with an infrastructure support system from hospitals, scientists, drug manufacturers. Our discussion will focus on this novel approach to financing drug development that makes the world a better place.
Fireside Chat: Private Placement Life Insurance: A Strategic Tool for the Modern Family Office
The adoption of Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI) is steadily increasing among family offices, ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) investors, and institutions aiming to enhance long-term investment performance by minimizing the tax inefficiencies associated with certain investments. Sam Jacobs of Gallagher (formerly Manor House Capital) will provide valuable insights into how prominent families are leveraging PPLI to align their investment, estate planning, and governance goals. Moderated by Andrea Dykes of Howard Insurance, the discussion will delve into strategies for structuring and implementing PPLI, the product’s transparency and mechanics, and its evolving role in advanced family office strategies.
Presentation: AI Technology Meets Humanity in Next-Generation Wealth Stewardship
While 86% of families consider “life lessons and values” essential to inheritance, many struggle communicating these effectively across generations. In this talk, Lisa McCurdy, Founder and Managing Partner of The Wealth Counselor, LLC, reveals how AI helps solve this challenge – not by replacing human connection, but by deepening it. She’ll share practical insights on using AI as a catalyst for meaningful conversations that bridge generational divides, articulate shared values, and prepare the next generation for responsible wealth stewardship. This session offers a fresh perspective on integrating cutting-edge technology with timeless human wisdom, helping families shift from anxiety-driven planning to purpose-driven dialogue.
Fireside Chat: The Family Office Trap: When Doing Too Much Does Harm
Drawing on interviews with over two dozen senior single-family office executives, Will Parizeau and Jen Richardson explore how well-intentioned offices can unintentionally undermine family capability by over-servicing. In an era of massive wealth transfer, where the next generation seeks greater autonomy and often rejects their parents’ advisors, this conversation offers lessons for all wealth management professionals. The session will examine how to balance excellence with restraint, strengthen family capability over convenience, and design advisory relationships that endure across generations.
